Renowned International Artist to Discuss Street Art Feb. 28 through Rome Center Lecture Series
Alice Pasquini, a renowned international artist from Rome, will discuss street art during a talk at 10:30 a.m. CST Wednesday, Feb. 28, as part of the U of A's Rome Center Speaker Series hosted by the Graduate School and International Education. The talk will be held in the Rome Center's historic campus located in Palazzo Taverna in Rome. The event is also available to the U of A campus and community members virtually via YouTube.
Pasquini graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and earned a master's degree in art criticism at the Universidad Computense in Madrid. While she specializes in street art, her artwork can also be found in galleries and museums around the world in cities such as Sydney, New York, Barcelona, Oslo, Moscow, Partis, Copenhagen, Berlin and Rome.
Her talk will focus on her work in the Rome street art scene, gendered street art and street art as a form of social and urban reclamation.
The Rome Center's Speaker Series offers talks from renowned international experts across a range of topics throughout the spring semester. The lecture series includes one additional talk this spring held on site at the Rome Center's location in Rome, Italy, with virtual options available for the broader U of A community.
