White Ribbon Build With the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative
American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (ALCSI) Collegiate Chapter is set to host its inaugural White Ribbon Build event Thursday, Feb. 29, from 5-6:30 p.m. in CORD 127.
In a concerted effort to raise awareness and support for lung cancer screening initiatives, the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative Collegiate Chapter is set to host its inaugural White Ribbon Build event. Scheduled from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, in the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence, room 127, this event aims to unite the community to fight against lung cancer while promoting early detection and prevention strategies.
The White Ribbon Build event, organized by ALCSI in collaboration with Highlands Oncology and Northwest Medical Center Lung Cancer Screening Initiatives, will serve as a platform to advocate for lung cancer screening and encourage individuals to prioritize respiratory health. With lung cancer being one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide, the importance of early detection through lung cancer screening cannot be overstated.
Central to the White Ribbon Build event is a collaborative effort to construct a symbolic structure adorned with white ribbons, each representing a commitment to supporting lung cancer screening efforts and honoring those affected by the disease. Through this collective endeavor, participants will not only raise visibility for the cause but also demonstrate solidarity in the fight against lung cancer.
This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the Student Activities fee.
