Members of the U of A chapter oof the National Association of Hispanic Journalists talk about their upcoming newsletter at their first meeting of the year.

The University of Arkansas's chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists is proud to announce the release of its first-ever newsletter.

Readers will find an introduction to the group's mission of uplifting Hispanic journalists in the newsroom, industry and academia. The newsletter provides a recap of recent chapter updates, including highlights from the first meeting of the year held on Jan. 24. The newsletter also features job opportunities, scholarships, and resources for aspiring journalists.

The University of Arkansas NAHJ is proud to be the only existing chapter for Hispanic Student Journalists in Arkansas. This achievement underscores the group's importance in the local journalism landscape and its dedication to making a meaningful impact in outreach inclusive excellence. The February edition highlights members Rachell Sanchez-Smith and Amelia Southern-Uribe, providing insight into their backgrounds and achievements in journalism. The first newsletter is available to members on HogSync.

Looking ahead, the University of Arkansas Hispanic Journalist Group has exciting meetings and a festival planned, including gatherings in March and April, such as the NAHJ July conference in Los Angeles.
