Apply Now for Division of Student Affairs' Student Advisory Board

The Division of Student Affairs is seeking students for a new Student Advisory Board that will start meeting in March 2024.

"The purpose of this board is for students to provide feedback and perspective on their experiences as undergraduate, graduate, or online students at the University of Arkansas," said Jeremy Battjes, vice chancellor for Student Affairs. "Members should be informed about University issues and be prepared to share their personal views, and those from their fellow students."

This board will explore many topics and issues that impact all U of A students by sharing thoughts, ideas and experiences, which can contribute to improving the overall student experience. The conversations will generally be around the Student Affairs priorities of student access, well-being and belonging, post-graduation success, and building a strong organizational culture.

"We are looking for both undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences with the University of Arkansas, including those who take classes online," said Erin Butler, senior advisor to the vice chancellor and advisor to this new student board.

Board member responsibilities include advocating for, providing feedback from, and collaborating with campus programs, initiatives, and services; advising on ways to increase student access and awareness of services provided by Student Affairs; serving as representatives of the Division at special events throughout the year; and evaluating the effectiveness of current and potential programs.

Members will be paid $500 via Notification of Student Scholarship for their commitment and are expected to attend regular meetings starting this March.

Students should apply by Feb. 11 via the secure HogSync form.
