The Transit and Parking Department is introducing newly defined "drop-off" and "pick-up" parking spaces along Maple Street and Dickson Street.

The purpose of the spaces is to have locations closer to campus where all drivers can quickly drop off or pick up pedestrian passengers. Since the sole purpose of the spaces is to drop off and pick up passengers, vehicles will have a maximum of five minutes to occupy a space. Vehicles cannot be left unattended when utilizing a drop-off/pick-up space.

The spaces are located on the south side of Maple Street between Lindell and Storer Avenue, and on the north side of Dickson Street near the Duncan Avenue intersection in front of Bell Engineering Center.

If all spaces are full, drivers are not permitted to wait in the street until one becomes available.

The change is the latest effort by the Transit and Parking Department to seek solutions that make the U of A campus as easy to access as possible. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, you can contact the T&P office at 479-575-7275 or parking@uark.edu
