Employees Invited to Donate Excess Catastrophic Leave Hours
University of Arkansas Human Resources is conducting a donation drive for Catastrophic Leave — assisting eligible university employees after they have exhausted their earned sick leave, annual leave, holiday leave, and compensatory time — to manage medical emergencies, injuries and illnesses incurred by them or eligible family members.
More information and donation forms are available on the Human Resources website. Donations are strictly voluntary.
Donations must be made in one-hour increments and there is no limit on the number of hours that may be donated. A donation cannot be accepted if it would reduce the donor's combined sick and annual leave balance to fewer than 80 hours. Leave donations are only accepted during donation drives or at an employee's end of employment. Employees may not have more than 240 hours of annual leave and no more than 960 hours of sick leave on Jan. 1 of each year.
To donate to the Catastrophic Leave Bank, contact hrleave@uark.edu to obtain a donation form or download one from the links above. Completed donation forms should be submitted to Human Resources no later than Nov. 22.
For questions about the Catastrophic Leave Program, contact Stacey Moore, assistant director for benefits, at stacey01@uark.edu or (479) 575-2198.
