The U of A Mock Trial teams competed in two separate tournaments this weekend. Teams Sandy and Patrick traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, to compete in WashU's Arch Invitational, and Teams Plankton and Squidward traveled to Oxford, Mississippi, to compete in the Chucky Mullins Invitational at Ole Miss.

Team Sandy had an incredible showing, taking fourth place at WashU with five wins, two losses and a tie. Luke Hubbard received an outstanding attorney award with 17 ranks on the defense.

Team Patrick traveled alongside Team Sandy, facing tough competitors like Washington University St. Louis. Team Sandy hit tough schools including Vanderbilt and Wisconsin, and they narrowly lost to Wisconsin for the first-place title. This is their second tournament of the season after a trip to Atlanta, Georgia, last weekend, where they competed at Emory University.

Team Plankton also had an incredible showing, taking second place at Ole Miss with six wins and two losses. They competed against several Southern and Midwestern schools including Rhodes. Trinity Tipton received an outstanding attorney award with 17 ranks on the defense, and Piper Harris also received an outstanding attorney award.

Team Squidward wasn't too far behind. They ended their weekend in Oxford with a total of five wins, three losses and several awards. Mary Owen and Blaze Tausend both won outstanding attorney awards, with Tausend receiving 16 ranks on the defense. Lex Beck also won an 18-rank award for his role as a defense witness. Coincidentally, Tausend was Beck's directing attorney.

Make sure to congratulate all of our members for their hard work and dedication to this program if you see them on campus! They've been working tirelessly the past few weeks to represent the U of A well!

The U of A Mock Trial team is a trial simulation-based RSO that competes in tournaments across the nation. Tryouts are held at the beginning of the fall semester.
