Italian American Studies Association to Host Two Keynote Addresses

The Italian American Studies Association is on campus this Thursday to Sunday celebrating its 55th annual conference. The conference is hosting two keynote addresses.

From 5:30-6:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 26, our very own Jeannie Whayne is delivering a talk titled "Reshaping Sunnyside: Italian in Arkansas," and from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, Jack Halberstam, the David Feinson Professor of the Humanities at Columbia University, is lecturing on "Trans* After Trans." Please feel free to join us for these two amazing presentations. 

The conference is co-sponsored by departments of English; History; and World Languages, Literatures and Cultures; the Honors College and Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences; programs in Class Studies, Mideast Studies, Gender Studies and International and Global Studies; and the Arkansas Humanities Center and Multicultural Center.
