Theresa Delaplain, assistant professor of music, has won a grant from the Creative Arkansas Community Hub and Exchange (CACHE) to perform in the Mixtape series at The Medium. The series is a program of the Creative Exchange Fund, which is designed to activate The Medium in Springdale as a community-led destination by promoting professional performing artists, artist residencies, curatorial opportunities and music development.

Delaplain will present a social justice program on April 16 titled "Of Children, Mind and Earth," a multi-media program for oboe and electronics, including one of her own works, "The Voices," for oboe and electronic track. The works on the program will all include audio and/or video, which will be accompanied by the acoustic oboe. Topics for the works are issues of children's rights, psychological health and the environment. Delaplain states that "It is my hope that this performance will generate thought, interest and awareness of these topics."
