STEM Career Events Happening This Week
If you are a student majoring in science, technology, engineering or math fields, don't miss the opportunities this week to have your resume reviewed, network with employers and learn about job and internship opportunities. There are three STEM career events this week:
STEM Employer Resume Review
Tuesday, Sept. 26
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Arkansas Union Connections Lounge
Register on Handshake (Registration is encouraged, but not required to attend).
Stop by the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge and have your resume reviewed by an employer the day before the STEM Career Fair. Come as you are, bring a paper copy of your resume, sign in at the check-in table, and we'll connect you with an employer.
Pre-STEM Mixer
Tuesday, Sept. 26
5-8 p.m.
Arkansas Union Verizon Ballroom
Register on Handshake (Registration and business casual attire is required to attend).
Enjoy food and network with 38 employers the evening before the STEM Career Fair at the Pre-STEM Mixer! This event is a mini version of the STEM Career Fair with free food! Don't forget to bring copies of your resume! Benefits of attending include:
- More conversation time with employers
- Get comfortable introducing yourself and asking/answering questions to relieve any nerves before the fair
- Evening event — less likely to interfere with classes
- Welcoming environment — smaller venue with fewer employers than the fair
- Did we mention free food?
STEM Career Fair
Wednesday, Sept. 27
10 a.m. to noon and 1-3:30 p.m.
Bud Walton Arena
Students majoring in science, technology, engineering or math fields should attend this fair to connect with 196 employers who are hiring for full-time, part-time, co-op and internship opportunities. Attending the fair speeds up the interview and hiring process, as many companies interview on campus the day after the fair! Business casual attire REQUIRED to attend.
You may catch a shuttle to and from the career fair at Bell Engineering (Dickson Street side) starting at 9:15 a.m. for Tau Beta Pi students and 9:30 a.m. for all students. The last pickup from Bell Engineering to Bud Walton before the lunch break will be 11:30 a.m. The fair will close from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch. The shuttle will resume pickup after the lunch break at Bell Engineering starting at 12:45 p.m. The last shuttle from Bell Engineering to the fair leaves at 3 p.m. with the last return from Bud Walton to BELL being 4 p.m.
Register on Handshake.
