Creating Multiple Positions on a Job Requisition in Workday
In June, the Department of User Solutions collaborated with Human Resources to launch a Workday enhancement that allows recruiters across campus to connect more than one position number to a job requisition, and then fill any position first.
When departments are seeking to fill open positions, they are encouraged to use this tool for a more efficient experience throughout the process. The enhancement offers the below benefits:
- Multiple positions can be connected to one job requisition, all under one supervisory organization with the same qualifications.
- Position numbers are used by the system as hires are initiated from "Ready for Hire."
- If one position number is filled/used, it will not close (or mark the Job Requisition as "Filled"). Additional hires can be completed from the Job Requisition.
- The university's Benefits and Compensation department will use this information for reports and position management on campus, which leads to more accurate personnel information
- As part of this new process, two response options have been removed from the "Additional Data" form: "How many positions will be filled from this job requisition?" and "Please list all position numbers that will be filled from this job requisition."
Employees are asked to use the new capability in order for Human Resources to know what position numbers will be used for the hires. This is an important step to ultimately ensure proper workflow practices during the hiring process.
User Solutions has created a video demonstration that details how to use the new functionalities. Employees with questions are invited to contact their department's employment coordinator or HR partner for more information.
