Screening of Golden Globe Winning Drama 'In the Fade,' by German Filmmaker Fatih Akin

Please join a screening of Golden-Globe-winning drama In the Fade (Aus dem Nichts) by acclaimed German-Turkish filmmaker Fatih Akin from 7-9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 13, in the Digital Humanities Lab, J.B. Hunt 207. Film screening in German with English subtitles. 

Katja's life falls apart in the blink of an eye when two neo-Nazis kill her Turkish-born Kurdish husband and 6-year-old son in a bomb attack in Hamburg. Her quest for justice soon pushes her to the edge as the two suspects stand trial for murder. 

Akin studied visual communications at Hamburg's College of Fine Arts in 1994. His first short feature, Sensin – You're The One! (1995), received the Audience Award at the Hamburg International Short Film Festival. His other films include In July (Im Juli, 2000), the Berlinale Golden Bear-winner and winner of the German and European Film Awards Head-On (Gegen die Wand, 2003) and Crossing the Bridge — The Sound of Istanbul (2005).
