Digital Humanities Meet-Up Begins Thursday, Sept. 14

The World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio in the World Languages, Literatures & Cultures department is excited to announce the return of the Digital Humanities Meet-Up, held in the WLDH Studio, J.B. Hunt Center 207. The fall series kicks off from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14.

The opening DH Meet-Up will feature projects from faculty and graduate students from the Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures who combine world cultures and digital technology. Presentations will include 360 photography, interactive virtual tours of ancient sites, touch-screen paleography lessons for learning Medieval French, and innovative use of digital tools to cultivate a creative classroom. A reception will follow the event, also held in the WLDH Studio.

The second meeting for September will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 28 in the WLDH Studio (JBHT 207). This DH Meet-Up will feature WLLC faculty and graduate students who would like to share their plans for future projects that combine world cultures and digital technology, including proposals for funding or potential courses and learning units. This event will be followed by lunch provided by the Studio.
