Seeking Co-Directors for UA NSF Advance Engage Program

Are you passionate about supporting faculty in STEM disciplines? Do you enjoy collaborating with other faculty leaders on our campus? Are you interested in planning new and assisting with implementing existing Faculty Affairs and UA ADVANCE ENGAGE initiatives? Serving as a co-director of the UA NSF ADVANCE ENGAGE Program in the Office of Faculty Affairs may be your destiny!

The UA ADVANCE ENGAGE leadership team and the Office of Faculty Affairs seek two faculty willing to serve as co-directors of the UA NSF ADVANCE ENGAGE Program. This appointment will be for one year.

The co-directors report to the UA ADVANCE ENGAGE principal investigator and the Provost's Office, under the direction of the vice provost for faculty affairs. Any tenured, full-time faculty member is eligible to apply. The co-directorship includes extra compensation or a course buyout package and summer funds.

Your one-page application letter should state why you are interested in co-directing the UA NSF ADVANCE ENGAGE Program, what unique experiences or talents you would bring to the role, and how you would contribute to enhancing the culture of belonging for diverse faculty in STEM disciplines and across campus. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18. 

About the UA ENGAGE: UA ENGAGE (Empowering Networked Groups for Arkansas Gender Equity) is funded by a $1 million NSF ADVANCE grant from the National Science Foundation to better recruit and retain women and women of color faculty within STEM departments. The goal of UA ENGAGE is institutional transformation by adopting policies and practices to support underrepresented groups and mitigate organizational barriers, UA ENGAGE will make a positive difference to our faculty and university.
