Congratulations on being a new employee at the U of A!

The U of A welcomes all new employees to the campus community. To help new employees get acclimated, the Human Resources office offers a comprehensive checklist to ensure the smoothest onboarding and engagement process possible. Below are some important steps to take and helpful things to know upon arrival to campus.

  • Complete your I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification at Central HR, located in the Administration Building at 1125 W. Maple, Ste. 222. Make your appointment using the Booking Tool and have your documents ready.
  • Use your nine-digit university ID number to activate your email and Workday account.
  • Register and attend a New Employee Orientation (NEO) and a Benefits Orientation. Faculty are asked to attend New Faculty Orientation, which is typically held the Tuesday before the first day of classes in August. Contact the Teaching and Faculty Support Center for details at tfsc@uark.edu or (479) 575-3222.
  • Complete onboarding tasks and benefits enrollment in Workday.
  • Complete all necessary training. You will have training required for all employees, but you also may have training that is specific to your department or position.
  • Receive your University ID card at the Campus Card Office located in the Arkansas Union. You will need your nine-digit university ID number.
  • Purchase a valid parking permit or pay a parking meter at most parking locations on campus. Purchase your permit.
  • Request a key to your office (if needed) through the campus key office.
  • Schedule an appointment for a professional headshot to use in U of A correspondence by emailing photo@uark.edu.
  • Download graphics or email signature materials at the Brand and Style Guidelines page.
  • Read about what's happening around campus via Arkansas News and learn your way around with the U of A Campus Map.
  • Nonresident employees should contact Miranda Gibson, HR NRA Specialist, to schedule an appointment and complete new employment forms.

For questions or assistance during your first few weeks, email Employee Services, contact your HR partner or call (479) 575-5351. On behalf of university faculty and staff, congratulations on being a new employee at the U of A, and thank you for making us your employer of choice.
