The Association of American Colleges and Universities has identified 11 data-supported high-impact practices (HIPs) that contribute to student success: first-year seminars, common intellectual experiences, learning communities, writing-intensive courses, collaborative assignments and projects, undergraduate research, diversity/global learning, ePortfolios, service learning, community-based learning, internships, and capstone courses and projects.

Because student success is a top U of A priority, all faculty, staff and students are invited to learn more about these HIP and Wellness initiatives that are implemented on our campus.

Please RSVP now to attend the HIP Show and Tell from 1-4 p.m. Thursday, July 27, in the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence (CORD).

This event is supported by the newly initiated campus-wide HIP Collaborative, which is co-chaired by Trevor Francis, associate vice provost for student success, and Deb Korth, assistant dean of student success for Fulbright College. The event will feature faculty, staff and students from throughout campus who will promote and describe their respective HIP and wellness work with an open-house style and science fair flair.

The campus community is invited to drop in at the various show-and-tell stations to discover more about the High Impact Practices, which are data-driven and data-proven practices that support student success.

The event is free and open to the entire campus community. Light refreshments will be available thanks to the support of Student Affairs. Newly designed HIP buttons will be distributed to the first 100 participants entering the event.

The hosts for each of the HIP initiatives are listed below. If you have something to share with the campus community about your implementation of the High Impact Practices or wellness initiatives in your area, you are invited to reach out to the room hosts about your work and how you can showcase it at the event.
