The intersection of Duncan Avenue and Williams Street will be closed during the summer as part of the construction of the new Institute for Integrative & Innovative Research Building.

The closure is expected to begin Monday, June 5, and will last until Sunday, July 15. At that point, one lane of traffic is expected to be opened for two weeks, and both lanes are expected to be open by Aug. 5. Access to the Harmon Avenue Garage will remain available at levels 1, 2, 4 and 6.

The 144,000-square-foot I³R building will be a flexible state-of-the-art facility that empowers university-wide multidisciplinary research and collaboration on the U of A campus. I³R will introduce the needed high-quality research space for faculty and students, as well as future industry partnerships. The building is expected to open in fall 2024.

Please direct any construction-related questions or concerns to the Facilities Management Service Center at 479-575-5050.
