Equal Opportunity, Compliance & Title IX Announces New Hires, Promotions

Equal Opportunity, Compliance & Title IX at the U of A is excited to announce nine new staff members and two promotions over the last year.

"I'm excited about our new staff in the department," said Danielle Williams, associate vice chancellor and executive director/compliance officer. "Our new team members have broad range of knowledge, skills and experience that will bring value to OEOC and the campus community!"

Team Promotions

Two OEOC team members have been promoted: Wayne Bell Jr. and Alli Johnson.

Wayne Bell Jr., deputy Title IX coordinator for case management

Portrait of Wayne Bell JrIn his new role, Bell now serves as the liaison between the Office of Title IX and various campus stakeholders. He is responsible for managing all matters related to discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct. 

A Fayetteville resident and proud U of A alumnus, he holds a bachelor's degree in communication from Arkansas State University and a master's degree in communication from the U of A. He is also a staff senator at the U of A and a notary public for Washington County.

Alli Johnson, assistant director of accommodation and accessibility services

portrait of Alli JohnsonPrior to her promotion, Johnson had been with the U of A for over a year and a half. She earned her master's in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and she is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.

Johnson says she is passionate about making the U of A an accessible and inclusive environment for people with disabilities.

New Staff Members

The OEOC is also announcing the following new staff members:

Aisha Kenner, director of Title IX compliance and Title IX coordinator

portrait of Aisha KennerKenner has over 20 years of higher education experience. She worked for the University of Illinois as an assistant dean of students prior to coming to the U of A in 2002 to serve as an associate dean of students for Student Conduct. She next worked in Intercollegiate Athletics as the assistant director for Educational Enrichment Service from 2017-2021. She became an EO & Title IX investigator and interim Title IX coordinator before being appointed to her current position. Kenner earned her bachelor's degree in political science and master's in higher education, both from Southern Illinois University.

Jonathan Deegan, assistant director and grievance officer

portrait of Jonathan DeeganDeegan most recently served as an investigator with the Oregon Department of Justice. He was previously a case manager for the Washington State Department of Corrections and a senior constable for the Queensland Police Service in Brisbane, Australia. He is a graduate of Deakin University (B.A.) and Griffith University (M.C.J.).

Aaron McCullough, director of accommodations and accessibility services

portrait of Aaron McCulloughBefore coming to the U of A as the director of AAS, McCullough served as a senior manager of ADA compliance in the healthcare field and as the ADA coordinator for a public transit agency. Previously, he worked as an attorney and consultant focusing on civil rights for people with disabilities, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessibility in fair housing. McCullough was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to two native Arkansans and grew up a couple of hours away from Fayetteville in the Missouri Ozarks. McCullough received a bachelor's degree in psychology and in social work from Missouri State and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston.

Dana Magby, equal opportunity specialist

portrait of Dana MagbyIn this position, Magby assists with monitoring the faculty and staff recruitment process to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as U of A policy. Previously she worked in customer service for USAA, and before that was in the medical field for over eight years. She is a graduate of Blinn College with an associate degree in drama.

Chris Jones, training and communications coordinator

portrait of Chris JonesIn this position, Jones schedules OEOC training, serves as liaison between the OEOC and the university for OEOC training issues and ensures that the university is aware when training will be conducted. He most recently served as a veteran service officer for Washington County. He previously retired from a 21-year career in the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of Excelsior University with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and American Military University with a Master's of National Security Studies and an MBA with a concentration in non-profit management.

Brande Flack, equal opportunity and Title IX investigator

portrait of Brande FlackFlack previously served as a director of Retention Programs at the U of A's Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education for 13 years. In her many roles at the university, she has worked with thousands of students over the years through the coordination of academic retention programs, student success initiatives, classroom teaching and diversity education. Flack earned her bachelor's in psychology and master's degree specializing in higher education and student services at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Katy Adams, equal opportunity and Title IX investigator

portrait of Katy AdamsAdams began serving in this position with the U of A in 2022. She most recently served as the investigator with the Washington County Public Defender's Office. In addition, she served as a juvenile probation officer supervisor in Maricopa County, Arizona, and Fort Bend County, Texas. During her career tenure in Texas, she also worked in various residential treatment centers for emotionally disturbed and delinquent youth. She is a graduate of Baylor University (B.A.), majoring in psychology with a minor in sociology, and the University of Houston-Clear Lake (M.A.), majoring in behavioral science with a concentration in criminology.

CJ Moseby, equal opportunity and Title IX investigator

portrait of CJ MosebyMoseby has served as a Title IX/EO investigator since August 2022. She has her bachelor's degree in government from Oral Roberts University. She also brings to the role her experience in trauma-informed care and conducting compassionate, thorough, impartial investigations through her work at the NWA Children's Shelter and Benton County Juvenile Court.

Heather Cato, equal opportunity and title IX investigator

portrait of Heather CatoCato, a proud U of A alumna and former student-athlete for the Razorback soccer team, holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology from the U of A, as well as a master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and an M.Ed. from East Central University. Prior to her arrival on campus, Cato served as a criminal investigator for the State of Missouri, as well as a senior woman administrator and deputy Title IX coordinator in higher education.

"This expansion has been in the works for a long time, and everything about it designed to amplify OEOC and Title IX's ability to be a partner and a resource to the campus community in our ambition to create a campus free from discriminatory harassment and sexual violence," said Laura Jacobs, chief of staff. "I am delighted to welcome not only the new staff members to our campus, but to acknowledge and appreciate the existing staff for stepping up, taking on additional duties and their commitment to campus."
