Students of Italian Spend One Year in Italy Teaching English
Two graduating senior students of Italian, Elyse Cano, an Italian minor, and Adoette Vaughan, have been recently awarded the Study Intercultural Training Experience Fellowship, or SITE.
The program is an internship opportunity for recent graduates from U.S. universities to become teaching assistants in schools of the Lombardy region in Italy. Vaughan and Cano will spend one year in Lombardy teaching English to high school students under the supervision of a tutor from the school.
Since the U of A joined the consortium in 2022, three students have been awarded this fellowship and are currently working in three high schools in Bergamo, Brescia and Crema. Congratulations, Vaughan and Cano!
