Child Participants Sought for Communication Devices Research

Researchers from the U of A College of Education and Health Professions are seeking children ages 3-17 to in participate in a 90-minute brainstorming session on ideal features and functions of communication devices for children with complex communication needs.

Families will be compensated with a $30 Amazon gift card for their participation.

Interested families should contact associate professor Liz Lorah at lorah@uark.edu.

Lorah is an associate professor in special education and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She and Christine Holyfield, an assistant professor in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a speech-language pathologist, created the Augmentative and Alternative Communication research lab.

The lab is focused on developing and evaluating instructional strategies and technologies for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities — such as autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome — who have limited speech.
