University of Arkansas Chancellor Charles F. Robinson will be formally vested with the symbols and ornaments of his position during an investiture ceremony at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center.

Investiture is a traditional academic ceremony, generally held within the first year of a president or chancellor’s tenure.

The entire campus community is invited to attend; however, seating in the Faulkner Center will be very limited. Members of the campus community are encouraged to watch the investiture from the overflow seating that will be available in the Arkansas Union rooms 507-514. The ceremony will also be available via livestream on the U of A YouTube channel.

Special campus guests will include U of A System President Donald R. Bobbitt, U of A Board of Trustees Chair Morril Harriman,  U of A System Division of Agriculture Vice President Deacue Fields, as well as leaders from Associated Student Government, Graduate-Professional Student Congress, Faculty Senate and Staff Senate. The U of A Inspirational Chorale will also perform. 

Due to the impending rainy weather, the pre-Investiture celebration will be moved into the Arkansas Union, rooms 507-511 from noon to 1 p.m. Students will still be able to partake in free food, t-shirts, stickers and get a photo with the Chancellor. 

The investiture is hosted by U of A System President Donald R. Bobbitt and the U of A Board of Trustees.
