Phi Beta Kappa Members Invited to Join Local Chapter

Campus faculty, staff and students who have previously been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa are encouraged to join the local Alpha of Arkansas chapter. Chartered in 1932, the chapter inducts by invitation students in the Arts and Sciences whose academic record and depth and breadth of studies and activities evidence exceptional achievement. The chapter roster includes familiar campus names such as Fulbright, Futrall, Leflar, Waterman, Hotz, Holcombe and Droke. 

Any member of Phi Beta Kappa who would like to participate in chapter activities is encouraged to attend a Zoom meeting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 6. Meeting details will be sent to those who email chapter president Daniel Levine and/or webmaster Beth Juhl.

The 2023 initiation for new student members will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11, in Old Main's Giffels Auditorium. The ceremony will be followed by a reception in Gearhart Hall 130 (Honors Study Lounge).
