RIOT Robotics RSO Receives $10K Grant to Build Battlebots and Promote Robotics in Local Community

The Robotics Interdisciplinary Organization of Teams (RIOT) RSO was founded last year to promote and give U of A students access to robotics. RIOT is working on many exciting projects in the field of robotics, from battlebots to academic research.
This grant was received from the NHRL charitable organization that funds colleges seeking to build combat robots and will be used to build three- to 30-pound battlebots, as well as an R2D2 advertising robot.
