Commit to Well is a campuswide incentive challenge hosted by UREC during the spring semester. The purpose of the challenge is to encourage the U of A community to explore the wide variety of wellness opportunities around campus while focusing on the eight dimensions of wellness.

The eight dimensions:

  • Social
  • Environmental
  • Occupational
  • Spiritual
  • Financial
  • Emotional
  • Intellectual
  • Physical

Participants earn points for doing any type of physical activity and completing a variety of wellness challenges. The fitness and wellness points earned will determine the prizes awarded at the completion of the challenge.

"UREC Member Services is excited to provide the opportunity for faculty and staff of this year's Commit to Well program to be entered into a drawing for a free annual membership to University Recreation. Being able to recognize and reward the hard work put in by those who commit themselves to wellness is something we are excited about doing and look forward to continuing to offer promotions such as these in the future," said Kelsey Harelson, assistant director, member services and events for University Recreation.

Participants may sign up for the challenge and log the completion of the fitness and wellness activities beginning, Feb. 1. at fitevent.uark.edu or urec.uark.edu/fitness/special-events.

"This event is free and open to all university faculty, staff and students," said Casey Fant, assistant director of fitness wellness for University Recreation.

"We want to encourage and promote health and wellness across the campus community."

More information regarding UARK Wellness can be found at wellness.uark.edu which serves as an outreach tool and resource bank for the campus community.
