UA Engage Seeking Advance Engage Faculty Fellows
The University of Arkansas' UA Engage team is excited to announce its Advance Engage Fellows Project. UA Engage is recipient of an NSF Advance Adaptation Grant (UA Engage, 2021-2024) to promote faculty gender and intersectional equity. The Advance Engage Fellows Project is an opportunity for faculty across campus assist with grant aims for gender equity through recruitment, retention and advancement of women faculty.
We are accepting short proposals (no more than one page) outlining your interests and how you can contribute to gender equity on campus. Please also include a short overview of your position and experience at the U of A. We are particularly interested in colleagues wishing to contribute to program enhancement and/or implementation in the following areas:
- Mentoring and sponsorship of women of color and white women in STEM
- Women's leadership
- Workload distribution equity and transparency
- Hiring best practices to recruit diverse faculty
- Strategies and best practices to retain diverse faculty
- Dual career initiatives
- Fostering a network and pipeline with Arkansas' minority-serving institutions
Please also provide a short bio highlighting relevant experiences and expertise and an indication of the support of your departmental chair/head/supervisor. All faculty in professorial ranks are eligible to apply.
Proposals can be submitted online by Jan. 9, 2023, and will be reviewed by the UA Engage team. Advance Fellows will be appointed for the 2023 calendar year and receive a $5,000 stipend that may be used towards a course buyout or extra compensation. Selected candidates will be notified by Jan. 16, 2023.
