WebEx to Be Decommissioned at End of Year

IT Services recommends using Microsoft Teams and Zoom for online conferencing.

IT Services recommends using Microsoft Teams and Zoom for online conferencing.

The WebEx contract will end on Dec. 31, 2022, and it will not be renewed. This decision was made due to declining WebEx usage and increasing popularity of Microsoft Teams and Zoom, which provide equivalent features. Decommissioning this service also presents a cost-savings opportunity for the university while consolidating technology support to two primary services.

What campus users can do before the end of the year:

IT Services does not recommend conducting university business on unsupported services. However, if you are invited to a WebEx session from a colleague outside the university, you can join using your UARK email address.

If you have questions or need assistance, contact the IT Help Desk.
