Friends of India cordially invites all U of A students, faculty and staff to attend the Diwali celebration from 4:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center.

Diwali is the festival of lights celebrated all over South Asia. The festival celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. It is a time of joy in every household. People light up diyas (clay lamps) in their homes and surroundings. Fireworks, sparkles and firecrackers are everywhere illuminating the streets with joy and happiness. It is a time for visiting friends and family, sharing gifts, wearing new clothes and enjoying delicious food. Come celebrate with us this joyous event with performances, food, henna and more!
