Online U of A Conference to Spark Ideas, Innovation in Online Teaching
The U of A Global Campus will host an online learning conference on Tuesday, Oct. 25, to unite U of A educators in a day of learning and sharing ideas and expertise.
The Better Online Learning Together conference, also known as the BOLT conference, is set from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Groups will meet online in 30-minute Zoom sessions throughout the day. Conference-goers can choose from topics designed for online program coordinators, online instructors and those who want to incorporate online learning tools and strategies into face-to-face courses. Check out the conference schedule.
Topics focus on developing and improving online learning through design, student and faculty engagement, the use of learning technology and media, and the implementation of faculty peer-proven techniques. Global Campus staff will share best practices and insights gained from academic departments, national organizations and industry partners.
Peer networking will begin at 8:45 a.m., and Cheryl Murphy, vice provost for distance education, will open the conference at 9 a.m. Attendees also can learn about Global Campus teams that support U of A distance education efforts, including the Online Student Liaison Office and teams providing assistance with compliance, technology, media production, marketing and recruiting.
