The Peer Safety Project, directed by Tim Cavell (professor of psychological science), is currently recruiting undergraduate mentors for the Fall 2022 semester.

Students will learn about school bullying and youth mentoring, will mentor an elementary school student twice/week and will write a term paper about their experiences. In return, mentors receive three hours of course credit and many great experiences.

Mentors are required to participate in a screening interview and a brief training, to undergo a criminal background check, to have reliable transportation, to have lunch availability for at least two hours twice a week (roughly between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m). You will be scheduled for 30 minutes of mentoring + drive time (approximately 90 minutes total) twice a week.

Organizers of the course are interested in recruiting mentors from any college and major. For more information, please contact Melissa Brown at mlb056@uark.edu.
