Laura Mabry has been promoted to director of operations and projects for the Division of Economic Development.

"Laura Mabry's experience, knowledge and expertise is perfect for this new role, and it's an extension of so much of what she's been doing throughout her time at the University of Arkansas," said Mike Malone, vice chancellor for economic development. "Her work to coordinate efforts across the Division of Economic Development will help us grow our impact and reach, which will be great for the university and great for our state."

In her new role, Mabry works with the seven offices of the division to produce research and reports and manage projects that advance the division's goals and initiatives. She also collaborates with division team members to ensure efficiency by maintaining and refining internal processes, coordinating resources to expedite workflow and implementing effective communications tools. She serves as a collaborator and connector to internal and external partners, working proactively to connect, engage, integrate and collaborate.

Mabry has held a number of roles of increasing responsibility since joining the U of A's Office of Graduate Recruitment in 2004. She has worked in development and advancement and, in 2014, joined corporate and foundation relations as manager before being promoted to assistant director.

"I am excited to serve in this new role to continue to enhance the division's outreach, efficiency and cohesion," Mabry said. "This is a very special place, and I am delighted to continue working on campus in this new capacity."
