Staff Senate Meeting Notes
The Staff Senate Meeting Recap for the June 9 meeting: please note these are not meeting minutes, but just a recap of the meeting's events.
Parking and Transit Update:
- Lot 68 will be reconstructed over the summer with the goal of opening the lot at the beginning of the fall semester.
- Lot 3 will add ADA spaces this summer.
- Maintenance work will be done on all 4 garages.
- Facilities Management is working on widening Razorback Road.
Human Resources Update:
- The budget has been approved by the Board of Trustees.
- Salary increases will be reflected on July 15 paychecks.
- Insurance premiums will increase but the university will absorb the cost.
- Everyone will receive an email on July 12 from Chancellor Robinson informing them that their new payment information is available in Workday.
- About 180 positions will move from classified to non-classified on July 1.
Margaret McCabe on Remote/Flex Work Pilot Project
- The unit leader will decide whether your unit will participate and will share with managers what they decide.
- An employee can work no more than three days a week off-campus.
- A four-day, 10-hour work week is also an option.
- The pilot will end on Aug. 8 and two surveys will be sent.
- Once the pilot ends, modifications will be made to the policy.
Treasurer's Report
- The balance is $321. The estimated cost of the picnic is $3,200.
- The fiscal year 2023 budget has been approved. It's the first budget increase in eight years.
Elections
- One nomination per position. All new officers were elected.
Chair Notes
Officers met with interim Chancellor Charles Robinson. The university expects more than 7,000 incoming freshmen and more than 30,000 students for the fall semester.
The chancellor's search is moving forward.
