Small group training class in session

University Recreation is offering Small Group Training classes during the Summer 2022 semester. Small group training offers a unique opportunity to explore a new dimension of fitness by blending camaraderie of a group fitness class with individualized attention of a certified personal trainer. Small group training is a great option for those seeking to be a part of a motivating class working towards achieving their fitness goals.

Classes are offered at various times throughout the day to fit your schedule and take place in the UREC Train studio, located on the first floor of the HPER Building. Each class meets twice a week for five weeks. Session 1 will be held from May 31 to June 30, and session 2 will be held July 11 to Aug. 11. The cost for students to participate is $43; for all other UREC members the cost will be $57.

Register for Small Group Training in the UREC main office located in HPER 225 or register online at urec.uark.edu > Member Services. The Summer 2022 Small Group Training schedule, registration packet and more information for all session dates and times are listed on urec.uark.edu.

Additionally, UREC will be running a prep course for the ACE Personal Training certification exam during the summer semester. The ACE Personal Training Prep Course is a great first step for anyone interested in becoming a personal trainer but not sure where to start. This nine-week course provides curriculum and material consisting of presentations, lectures and interactive group activities to help prepare you for the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam. This course includes the ACE 6th Edition Personal Trainer Manual.

This prep course is open to students, UREC members and non-members. It will be held on Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. June 8 to Aug. 3 in HPER 315. The cost of this course is $200 for students or $250 for UREC members. To register for the ACE Personal Training Prep Course, visit the UREC main office, the UREC Fitness Center in the Arkansas Union or register online at urecmembers.uark.edu. This prep course does not certify individuals as personal trainers or guarantee employment with UREC.
