Nadi Cinema: Middle East Film Club
A screening of the film You Will Die at 20 (Amjad Abu Alala, Sudan 2019) will be given at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, in the Hembree Auditorium of the Agricultural Food and Life Science Building.
In this "coming of death film," a young man prophesied to die at 20 and coddled since birth confronts his destiny (Arabic w/English subtitles, 108 minutes).
Nadi Cinema, the Middle East Film Club, screens films from the Middle East and often beyond. All films — classics, cult favorites, recent hits, comedies, tragedies, political thrillers, social commentaries and romances, in black-white and living color — are subtitled in English.
The series is hosted by professor Joel Gordon and generally meets monthly. Come see movies the way they were filmed to be screened — in a dark theater with friends and strangers.
All screenings are free and open to the public and take place at 7 p.m. in the Hembree Auditorium, room 107E in the Agricultural Food and Life Science Building (AFLS), next to the Pat Walker Health Center on Maple Street. Metered parking is available nearby at the Garland Avenue Parking Garage.
