'Cover the Cruiser' SAAM Event

Following the first kick-off SAAM events of the Day of Action and Campus Week of Action, the second part welcomes the campus community to join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Wednesday, April 6, on the Union Mall to "cover the cruiser" with pledges of support for survivors and denouncing sexual violence.

The Sexual and Relationship Violence Center and University Police have teamed together for this event. Joining them are U of A Cares, Title IX Office and Student Standards and Conduct.

"We hope for all to come and talk with us, help cover the cruiser and learn more about help for addressing sexual assault," said Katie Lingren, a graduate assistant at the SRVC. "This is a great opportunity for everyone to learn more about the important services these departments offer."

The Teal Grill will be on site grilling hot dogs for participants. The RESPECT peer educators will have custom button-making available. Legal Aid of Arkansas will also be present to discuss its collaboration with the SRVC for free legal advocacy services for victims/survivors. Join us for event activities, hot dogs (while supplies last) and learning more about resources. This event encompasses our goal of TEAL — Togetherness, Empowerment, Advocacy, Learning — for addressing sexual violence.
