Schubert Elected Senior Member of Institute

Karl Schubert, professor of practice, has been elected to senior member status with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Senior member is the highest grade which IEEE members can achieve, with only 10 percent of more than 400,000 members having reached the rank.

Schubert serves as the associate director for the multidisciplinary Data Science Program for the U of A College of Engineering, the Sam M. Walton College of Business and Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences. His research interests include data science and analytics, innovation, technology and interdisciplinary project-based active learning methodologies. He has been with the U of A since 2018.

Ed Pohl, professor and head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, stated, "We are fortunate to have Dr. Schubert as a professor of practice and member of our department. This recognition clearly demonstrates Dr. Schubert's industrial and academic achievements throughout his career."
