Muslim Students Association Fast-A-Thon Feb. 24
Muslim Students Association

The Muslim Students Association welcomes all U of A students to attend our MSA Fast-A-Thon at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, in the Multicultural Center, Arkansas Union 403. We welcome students from all walks of life to fast during the day and join us for dinner. However, fasting is not a requirement to attend this event. We will begin with a short lecture about what fasting encompasses in Islam and the details surrounding fasting in Islam. This will be followed immediately by dinner, which will include shawarmas from Grill 102. Please use this link to RSVP to the event!

In the month of Ramadan, Muslims typically fast (abstain from food and drinks) from dawn to sunset. We would like to cordially invite you to fast for a day and join us to break our fast together at sunset. You are welcome to try and wake up early and have a pre-dawn meal (suhoor/sehri) and begin your fast, or you are welcome to just start your fast at breakfast time. However, fasting is not mandatory to attend the event and only encouraged. On the day of the event, dawn will be at 5:43 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:07 p.m.

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students. Any questions or concerns can be sent to Abdussaboor Muhammad at aamuhamm@uark.edu or call or text at (479) 866-0873.
