VSA to Present Lunar New Year Showcase on Saturday, Feb. 26
Vietnamese Student Association

The Vietnamese Student Association at the U of A invites students, faculty, staff and the NWA community to our Lunar New Year Showcase from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Fayetteville Public Library Event Center.

Tết (Tết Nguyên Đán), also known as Lunar New Year, is the biggest and most important celebration in Vietnamese culture. It marks the beginning of a year on the lunar calendar, which is usually mid-February. Because the lunar calendar is based on the cycle of the moon phase, the date of Lunar New Year in the Gregorian calendar changes every year. Tết only lasts for three days, but people often spend a month enjoying this special event. Tết carries love and hope, signifies family and friendship, and promises a better year ahead.

U of A students, faculty, staff and the NWA community (non-students) can pre-register to reserve their tickets. Tickets are free for all U of A students, faculty and staff and are $10 for non-students. Payment will be in cash at the door but pre-registration is encouraged.

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled U of A students who pay the student activities fee. For questions about the event or for accommodations due to disability, please contact Ethan Nguyen at eknguyen@uark.edu or by cell at (479) 381-8449.
