As we approach the end of the semester, you will want to note announcements from Transit and Parking, including temporary modifications in parking enforcement and Razorback Transit service.

Specifically:

  • Parking is still enforced during dead days (such as the one on this Friday, Dec. 10) and during final exams. In short, parking requirements are in place every day that the U of A is open.
  • Razorback Transit continues to provide service on Monday through Saturday each week, but this will be altered in December and January, based upon changing needs in the upcoming break. For details see the operations calendar. Razorback Transit buses will have non-peak service on Dec. 17, Dec. 20-23, Jan. 3-7 and Jan. 10-15. There will be no Saturday bus service on Dec. 18 and 25 or on Jan. 1 and 8. In addition, there will be no Razorback Transit bus service at all from Friday, Dec. 24, through Jan. 2. On dates of non-peak service, no bus routes run after 5:30 p.m. As always Razorback Transit does not operate on Sunday.
  • Safe Ride is available from Monday night through Saturday night each week, but it will not be running from Friday, Dec. 17, through Monday, Jan. 17. You may go online for specific Safe Ride information.
  • Employees with a current parking permit who will be working on campus during the break between semesters may park in resident reserved parking areas from Monday, Dec. 20, through Friday, Jan. 14.
  • Lot 37, on the southwest corner of Garland Avenue and Cleveland Street, will be closed between Dec. 20 and Jan. 14. Anyone who parks there with the appropriate permit who plans to leave a vehicle on campus during this time should instead park in Lot 40A, on the northwest corner of Cleveland and Hall Streets. You may locate these areas on the campus parking map.
  • Transit and Parking is hiring individuals who wish to work as bus drivers or as parking patrol officers. To apply, go to jobs.uark.edu and then click on "career site" to go to the job listings. Click on "Fayetteville" and then indicate the area you prefer in the search bar. Type in "Transit" if you are interested in becoming a driver, or type in "Parking" if you wish to see openings for parking enforcement.
