Did you ever hear the jingle of an ice cream truck coming through your neighborhood growing up? Many consider this a quintessential memory from childhood.

The One Book One Community Committee invites students to come get locally made ice cream from Burton's and share what food reminds you of home from 2-4 p.m. today, Oct. 4, in the Union Mall.

This year's One Book, One Community committee book selection is Chef Edward Lee's Buttermilk Graffiti: A Chef's Journey to Discover America's New Melting Pot Cuisine, highlighting the connection between our multicultural society and the food we grow, prepare and eat.

Chef Lee's lecture is at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center. Tickets to that event are free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. Reserve your tickets today. Masks will also be required for attendees.
