Exhibit in Mullins Library Highlights Women Authors

An exhibit on the lobby level of Mullins Library displays selected materials by women authors from the University Libraries Special Collections Division's Rare Books Collection. Curated by rare books librarian Joshua Youngblood, the exhibit includes titles by Maya Angelou, Shirley Chisholm, Virginia Woolf and more. "Centuries of 'The Good Fight:' Women Authors in the Rare Books Collection" contains selections spanning nearly 400 years across genres and is on display through Sept. 28. 

"Special Collections strives to make rare and unique materials available that reflect the scholarly interests and diversity of our students and faculty," Youngblood said. "This exhibit highlights one important aspect of that: rare books from women authors, both those collected over more than a century by the libraries and the important recent additions we've made in partnership with and support of other programs on campus."

The campus community is invited to view rare editions of Monday or Tuesday, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, The Good Fight and more any time Mullins Library is open. Additional rare book holdings by women authors can be viewed in the Women's Studies Research Guide.
