The Arkansas Division of Higher Education recently released an update regarding the number of students, faculty and staff at the U of A who are Arkansas residents and have received one or more vaccination doses in Arkansas.

Please note: These numbers do not include students and other members of our campus community who are out-of-state residents, international students or who have been vaccinated in other states. That data is not available at this time.

The report is positive for the U of A in that at the very minimum, more than 74 percent of all employees — and almost 69 percent of Arkansas-resident students — have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Current U of A faculty and staff vaccinated in Arkansas

  • 4,145, or 74.2 percent, have received at least one dose
  • 3,385, or 60.6 percent, have completed their vaccination series

  • 10,009, or 68.8 percent, of Arkansas-resident students have received at least one dose
  • 8,236, or 56.6 percent, of Arkansas-resident students have completed their vaccination series

While state law prevents mandating vaccination, the university continues to encourage it in many ways including a vaccination incentive program for students. More than 7,000 students have already entered. Weekly prize drawings begin this week.
