University Recreation (UREC) is offering Small Group Training classes from Monday, Sept. 13, through Thursday, Oct. 21, as well as another session from Wednesday, Oct. 27, through Thursday, Dec. 9.

Small group training (SGT) offers a unique opportunity to explore a new dimension of fitness by blending camaraderie of a group fitness with individualized attention of a certified personal trainer. Small group training is a great option for those seeking to be a part of a motivating class working towards achieving their fitness goals.

Classes are offered at key times throughout the day and take place in the UREC Train studio in the HPER Building. The UREC Train studio is a converted racquetball court that is dedicated to providing a private training space for clients. The cost for students to participate in the entire six-week section is $43; for all other UREC membership types the cost will be $57.

"I am able to give my best to our participants and staff at UREC when I am able to make time to do things that I enjoy, which include working out," said Jeana Carow, assistant director of Facilities. "SGT is an excellent resource for me because it's a workout I can count on in a convenient location for me, the instructors are knowledgeable, and I always feel better after a good workout. It also helps keep me connected to the programs we offer, so it's an all-around win."

Register for Small Group Training in the UREC main office located in HPER 225 or register online at urec.uark.edu > Member Services. The Fall 2021 Small Group Training schedule, registration packet and more information for all session dates and times can be found on urec.uark.edu.
