As we approach the start of a new school year, Razorback Transit asks its riders to be patient as they address a driver shortage.

Razorback Transit Safety and Training Manager Troy Hoover said they're asking passengers to be understanding if a bus is not coming by as often on a particular route.

"Bear with us," he said.  "We are in full hiring mode. Some routes are running less frequently at this time, but no routes have been eliminated."

For many months, Razorback Transit has actively sought applicants to fill bus driving positions, but they are facing the same problem that businesses and organizations are facing elsewhere: they simply aren't getting applicants.

In the meantime, Razorback Transit continues to work to hire and train new drivers.

It is hoped that enough drivers can be hired so that adequate route service continues.

A new part-time Razorback Transit Driver with no experience will begin at $17 per hour, and it is a good job for students in college.

But it isn't just for college students. Anyone can apply, and Razorback Transit pays during training.
