Cindy Pickney, financial manager for distinguished professor Alan Mantooth in electrical engineering and a 16-year employee of the U of A, is retiring effective July 31.

Pickney has been with the U of A since 2005. She began in civil engineering, moved to computer science and computer engineering in 2007 and then to electrical engineering in 2017. She received her bachelor's degree in accounting in 2010 from the U of A.

"Cindy has been a huge asset to the College of Engineering over the last 16 years," Mantooth said, "and an integral part of creating financial systems and managing the financials of my research and several research centers for the last four years."

After retirement, Pickney plans to spend more time with family and to continue her camping treks throughout the United States.

All are invited to attend a drop-in reception honoring Pickney from 3-4 p.m., Thursday, July 29, at the Cato Spring Research Center room 122.
