James "JD" DiLoreto-Hill Named Assistant Director for Student Government Leadership

The Office of Student Activities is pleased to announce James "JD" DiLoreto-Hill as the assistant director for Student Government Leadership.

In this position, DiLoreto-Hill will advise Associated Student Government and Graduate Professional Student Congress.

Since moving to Fayetteville in 2013, DiLoreto-Hill has worked in two academic colleges and as a graduate assistant within the Academic Initiatives and Integrity office. He was elected for two terms as Graduate Professional Student Congress president and served on the Board of Directors as Social Justice Chair of the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students.

DiLoreto-Hill is a Ph.D. candidate in the public policy program with a focus on higher education policy. His dissertation topic is Agenda Setting and Shared Authority within Student Governance at Post-Secondary Institutions of Education. He has published articles in the journals of Behavioral Sciences and Groves Monograph on Marriage and Family.

DiLoreto-Hill is the recipient of the Sandra Kurjiaka Diversity and Inclusion Award, the Alex Marino Service Award and two Excellence in Graduate Education awards. DiLoreto-Hill received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Boston and his master's degree in public administration from the U of A. He and his husband, Bryan Hill, live in Fayetteville with their two newly adopted sons.

"He's very dedicated to the University of Arkansas and I am enthusiastic to see the impact of his leadership on both the Graduate Professional Student Congress and the Associated Student Government."
