Community Music School to Host Virtual Strings Workshop

Violin, viola, cello, and double bass players, ages 14-18, meet our faculty, alumni and students while learning more about our strings program at the University of Arkansas!

On Friday, Feb. 26, from noon to 2 p.m., the Community Music School will host a Zoom meeting geared towards students who want to improve their string skills. The link to the meeting will be sent after registration.

At the alumni panel, you can question our recent graduates about how the U of A prepared them for their careers. Get the inside scoop on our living learning community just for U of A music students, University Symphony Orchestra repertoire and participation, available scholarships, and more. Our professors are eager to get to know you and provide guidance on your musical journey.

Viola, cello, and bass students will attend a masterclass taught by our professors. You are encouraged to perform a piece of your choosing; our instructors will ensure a safe environment for performers. Alternately, you can choose to audit (participate as a non-performer) the masterclass.

Violin students will get hands-on experience making music on your instrument and combining it with BandLab. Please enroll in a free account at www.bandlab.com prior to the event, and come prepared to flex your creative muscles!
