University Recreation and the Arkansas Alumni Association will host the fourth annual Running of the Hogs (ROTH) 5k/10k on Saturday, March 6. This year's race will look a little different due to COVID-19. The race will include both an in-person and virtual option for the 5k and 10k. The in-person option will be capped at 100 participants, and all other racers will run the race virtually. Participants can now register online here.

Participants running the virtual 5k or 10k will have the option to complete any route of their choosing including the official race route found on Strava titled "Running of the Hogs" between Feb. 20 and March 20. Race signs will be placed at the start and finish line as well as throughout the course from Feb. 20 to March 20 to help guide virtual racers through the course.

All race participants will be required to sign a Running of the Hogs waiver. Participants in both options will receive a race box of small items such as, but not limited to, a long-sleeved ROTH t-shirt, promotional materials, and sponsor materials.

5K and 10K

Race registration is $30 for adults, $20 for U of A students, and $20 for children ages 13-17. These prices are the same for both the in-person and virtual races. All children 12 and under can register free of charge with a participating adult.

The in-person race will consist of a staggered start time to allow for proper social distancing. Participants will receive their start time via email.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no post-race event. All participants will receive their race box prior to start time. Once crossing the finish line, participants will be encouraged to maintain social distancing and will be directed to the parking lot.

Awards will be given to top finishers of the in-person race for each registration classification for both males and females. All awards will be shipped to these top finishers following the race.

Virtual race participants will have between Feb. 20 and March 20 to complete their 5k/10k. Participants may complete their 5k/10k on a course of their choosing, or visit our website for the ROTH mapped course. The mapped course can also be found on Strava, more details to come and the info will be found on our registration website. Participants can then record their times on Strava and upload to the ROTH tab.

Participants who register by March 3 are eligible for early packet pick-up from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, and 1-6 p.m. on Friday, March 5, at the Arkansas Alumni Association located at 491 N. Razorback Road.
