Academic Integrity in the Remote Learning Environment

University of Arkansas faculty are invited to attend a panel discussion focused on academic integrity in the remote learning environment from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, via Zoom.

Remote learning has presented faculty and students many challenges in the area of academic integrity. This program will provide faculty the opportunity to engage with campus academic integrity leaders and with James Lang, author of the book Cheating Lessons: Learning from Academic Dishonesty, to discuss academic integrity trends and issues on our campus.

The panel will feature Academic Integrity Monitors Pat Koski, dean of Graduate and International Education, and Shane Barker, assistant dean for advising student development in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, as well as All University Academic Integrity Board Chair John Gauch, professor of computer science and computer engineering. Additionally, James Lang will be returning to the University of Arkansas to participate as an outside expert to offer his own insights based on the trends discussed. Featured as the keynote speaker in the recent TFSC Winter Symposium, Lang has made academic integrity a point of emphasis within his research and is considered a leading expert within the field. The panel will be moderated by Paul Cronan, professor of information systems in the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

This event is co-sponsored by the Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center, Teaching Innovation and Pedagogical Support (TIPS) and the Office of Academic Initiatives and Integrity.
