The Honors College and Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation are pleased to announce the winners of the first campus wide Undergraduate Research Poster Competition. The purpose of this competition is to celebrate the breadth of research/creative projects undertaken by undergraduate students at the university.

In early spring 2020, undergraduates were invited to submit an abstract in one of nine academic categories.  From the submissions, three finalists in each category were selected to compete for first, second and third place finishes. The competition, original scheduled for late spring, was postponed due to the pandemic and transformed into an on-line event in early December. While several competitors had graduated, competitors remained in seven of the nine categories. Students will receive a prize of $100, $75, and $50, for first, second and third place finishes, respectively.

The first-place winners and their majors, by category, are as follows:

Agriculture — Joshua Tebow, honors horticulture

Business — Alison Creasey, honors agricultural economics

Engineering — Gianna Busch, honors biomedical engineering and Honors College Fellow

Health — Emily Myers, honors, communications disorders

Humanities — Morgan Walker, honors English creative writing

Natural Sciences — Josephine Hall, honors geology and Honors College Fellow

Social Sciences — Andrew Palmer, honors biology and sociology and Bodenhamer Fellow
