New Blackboard Upgrade Features for Spring 2021

New Blackboard Upgrade Features for Spring 2021
Blackboard Learn

IT Services will upgrade Blackboard Learn from Dec. 23, 2020 to Jan. 1, 2021. Blackboard Learn will be unavailable during this week while course content is migrated to the new interface called Blackboard Learn with Ultra Base Navigation.

After the migration, the process to create courses and add content will not change, but the new interface will provide greater accessibility for students and a more efficient experience for faculty. Future upgrades will be performed automatically and will not require downtime.

"This migration allows us to experience the most recent version of Blackboard Learn and all the features that come with it without service interruptions or significant downtime," Kathryn Zawisza, director of academic technology and innovation, said. "It also allows us to use a more modern and intuitive version of Blackboard."

TIPS has provided videos to help faculty become familiar with the new features.
